People are assaulted; abducted, murdered, home invaded, etc. every day. These victims are well intentioned, decent, hard working, law abiding citizens that would harm no one. They are regular mothers, fathers, sons & daughters. Just like home insurance, we don't take it out in the hope to use it, but we are glad its there when we need it! It is too late to practice fire drills once your house is already filling with smoke.
With only a few online searches, you will find countess media articles in the news of violent criminals performing absolutely unimaginable acts of violence. The savagery of the attacks is astonishing and something even the news media will avoid in detail. The images to the Right (click to enlarge) are news article headlines clipped from just the local paper over only 1 week! New offenders, repeat offenders, serial attackers, career criminals, escapees from jail, parolees from jail, etc. that have happened in the area have not even been touched on. It is just a few examples of what’s making news locally over a very short period of time. It’s actually way too much work to keep up with (especially nationally), so we have stopped at a week. You can search more online yourself and look up violent crimes if you haven’t been reading the paper or need further persuasion as to the reality of the environment we live in. The idea is not to scare but rather instill that no one will be there to assist you in that building, car, parking lot, etc. You really must take control of your own destiny. |

"The art of war teaches us to rely not on the likelihood of the enemy's not coming, but on our own readiness to receive him; not on the chance of his not attacking, but rather on the fact that we have made our position unassailable."
